THE STORY
James Wesley Smith is an Outlaw Singer/Songwriter born and raised in College Station, Texas. He was influenced early on by early years of Texas Country, Southern Rock and the Grunge/Classic Rock era music. Spent his early life chasing other dreams down every highway possible. Till music found him one day, in the form of a busted up guitar on the side of the road and brought it back to life. James Wesley never turned back after that, he began teaching himself the guitar and quickly began writing songs. JW packed up his life and all he knew and headed west, way west. The summer of 2016 he enrolled at South Plains College where he received musical scholarships each year. He graduated from SPC in May of 2019 with a commercial music degree as well as his audio tech certificate to produce/record his own music. While attending SPC he played in countless ensembles including, country jukebox, acoustic, red dirt, and multiple rock ensembles. He writes about his life, the missed opportunities he's faced, along with heartbreaks, and many close calls. “ It’s All About the Stories, thats who we are, and thats what we take with us in the end…” He takes this to heart when writing songs, and just like big inspirations of his (Ryan Bingham Singer/Songwriter) and(Cody Canada- Cross Canadian Ragweed/The Departed), he writes honestly about this world we live in and is not afraid to tell you how it is. Their debut album “Space and Time” was recorded/produced under his own Record label Brazos Bottom Records.
